Just before we started the 2007 season, our new head coach, Chelsea Alcorn, had to resign as her husband was offered a job out of state.  So again, we had a team with no coach, and graciously, Jody Hagaman, a player's mom, stepped to the plate.  This is what makes Manatee HEAT - people stepping to the plate-trusting God to work through you to make it possible for these students to field a team.  Jody did such a great job - some girls never played team sports and some never played volleyball.  In a short time, as we scrambled to find a place to practice, Jody pulled it together for a great season.  We didn't win much, but the girls had definitely improved their game. The 2008 volleyball season starts in August and Jody will be back at the helm to steer us to an even more victorious season.  At her right hand as assistant coach is Jenna Brussee, a 2008 alumni who played Manatee HEAT volleyball for 4 years. We are so blessed when student athletes graduate and come back to help with the organization. The season will be full of excitement, growth and endurance, as we start the year with a few girls coming back from last year and a group of girls ready to play!

We encourage experienced players and welcome student-athletes who have an interest in playing competitively on a positive team and contributing to its success.  Since volleyball is the first sport of the school year, we must be prepared to play.

Early registration fee of $50 by July 15th, after that date $75, with all forms turned in ( registration with your county school board at least 10 days before the first practice on Aug. 4, 2008).
